Queen’s visit

WITH reference Ms Ní Mhaolain’s article in The Kingdom opposing the Queen's visit, I have the following points to make.

It would appear that Queen Elizabeth is now on her way here regardless following the invitation by Brian Cowen but I thought Ms Ni Mhaolain put forward formidable opposition to this visit. Her article was certainly thought provoking.

The government has been preoccupied with a vote of confidence in itself. Fine Gael provided much entertainment on its own leadership issue which all came about as a result of a media poll of a mere 1,000 people and the real problems of the nation were not dealt with.

Internal party matters should not be at the fore when there are far more pressing matters, such as emigration.

I hope Ms Ní Mhaolain and others like her would consider putting pen to paper more often.
