Beyoncé won’t play at festival

THE organisers of Killarney SummerFest have rubbished reports that pop superstar Beyoncé Knowles is being lined up to top the bill at this year’s festival.

SummerFest manager, Tadhg Moriarty, said negotiations are still ongoing to determine what artists will perform at Fitzgerald Stadium this year but he confirmed that Beyoncé was not an option.

"We haven’t announced our concert programme as yet, but we should be doing so within the next fortnight," Mr Moriarty told The Kingdom.

"We are still negotiating with the artists and it’s looking very, very good. It all really comes down to what acts are touring and when they are touring."

The festival will run from Friday, July 3, until Sunday, July 12.
